The agricultural sector plays a central economic and social role in Tanzania: it accounts for 28 per cent of GDP and employs around 60 per cent of the Tanzanian population. However, climate change is threatening the farmers’ livelihoods and the country's food security.
In this event, we will take a look at the topics of small-scale farming and big agribusiness projects, shed light on the agricultural policy of the last two decades and present Tanzanian solutions. In an ideas workshop, we will also jointly develop approaches to the question: How can German- Tanzanian cooperations (e.g. projects and partnerships) be organised in a collaborative and sustainable way?Program
10:00 - 12:45 p.m.: Lectures (hybrid, online participation possible)
The presentations can be followed online. The group work and the workshop in the afternoon are for on-site participants only.
