We met Freeman Mbowe in Berlin on June 09, 2023 and spoke with him about the status quo of the opposition in Tanzania, the country's biggest challenges, and the role of the diaspora for Tanzania.
1. What is the current status quo of the Tanzanian opposition?
2. Freeman Meow was the victim of an attack a few months before the 2020 elections. A year later he was arrested. The charges against him were dropped in March 2022. Did he ever think of retiring?
3. President Samia Suluhu has officially resumed the constitutional review process, which was put on hold in 2015. What are the main changes CHADEMA is seeking to achieve a constitution "for the people"?
